BIOGRAPHY

Ada Parellada

Cook, publicist and activist against food waste. Always with one eye on the pan and another on the dining room.

I am a daughter of Fonda Europa de Granollers, which has more than 250 years of history.

In 1993, aged 25, I opened Semproniana, a restaurant in the center of Eixample.

The restaurant occupies the central part of my work, but I complement it with multiple professional activities.


I collaborate with different media, conveying the need to recover culinary habits in homes. Along the same lines, I give workshops and talks to families.


I write cooking books. I've written about twenty.

I am currently very involved in fighting against food waste. That is why I collaborate with different campaigns to prevent and raise awareness of this reality.


In 2021 we opened a traveling exhibition "What do we eat today?" which reflects on how we eat and how complicated we humans are when it comes to choosing which diet to follow.


All together and two children who have already passed their teenage years, take up all the hours of my work and life clock.
